8Mar 14-Monday Day 22
Chem 112- I gave a quiz on names formulas and charges for polyatomic ions.Today we went over answers to several questions from each worksheet....1, 2...,3...4(will do this tomorrow) . I gave out information on the assignment that will be due next monday on properties(will do this tomorrow). We went on to naming acids and filled in the gray sheet.(left side). This is the left side of the grey sheet. We had a quiz on the names, formulas and charges for the polyatomic ions. Please do sheet 6 for tomorrow. There will be another quiz tomorrow on the polyatomic ions.Chem 122- Today we worked with the common ion effect and went over Ksp (solubility product) using Ksp and calculation of solubility product(worksheet 1 to 3 bottom). Please do 4 and 5 from the worksheet that was given out on the friday before the break. Also from your text please do 20 to 25 and 19, 20 as well as worksheet. (I did not have enough time to do a homework check...hint hint)
Chem 111- We went over molecular naming today. Please do sheet 5 from the orange sheet and #8 from the green sheet. Your property table is due today.

Chem 112- Today I did a demonstration to show the difference in properties between ionic, molecular, acid and base compounds. You received information on an assignment that is due next monday. The attachment is below. Please do the following questions from your textbook. Please do the following questions from your textbook p 266 14 to 19 p 273 26 to 33. p 281 51, 52, 58 to 61.(for thursday) We did a quiz on polyatomic ions including ammonium and hydroxide.

Chem 122- We went over precipitation calculations today, and I did a hwk check on the handout(top and bottom 1 to 5), as well as the text questions. Please do 6, 7 from the worksheet and from the text p 565 26, 27.

Chem 112-Today you did an assignment with a partner that is due at the end of class. Please make sure to do the questions that were assigned yesterday for thursday. You had another quiz on the polyatomics.
Chem 122- We went over last night's homework, I changed what we did to giving you a pair assignment on Ksp. You received your topic review sheet for thest 2 on Ch 18. This test is next monday. We will start Ch 19 tomorrow...
Chem 111- Today we went over hydrates . You worked with equations with word and formulas from the green booklet. Assigned questions from green sheet #6, #7. Quiz today on molecular compounds. for tomorrow be sure to do p 273 29-32, p 281 57 to 61 and p 279 39 to 41. You will note that originally I mad the mole contract part one due on thursday, but I am changing it to be due on monday mar 21. You received an assignment for monday on ch 9.5 . Tthis is to be done for friday.

Chem 112- Today we went over molecular naming in detail. Please do sheet five from the orange sheet and #8 from the green sheet that you were given before the break that says Unit 2 practise at the top. Sheet 7 and 8 should be completed for monday. We will also do a quiz on molecular names/formulas from the back of your grey sheet. You will check over some answers from your orange sheets.
Chem 122-.We started Ch 19 on acids and bases.We are going to start with 19.2 in class. New work on pH, POH and Kw and hydronium and hydroxide ion concentration.Homework tonight: p 596 9a,c, 10, p 599 11, 12 . You will be doing some theory work from 19.1 for homework on your own for next tuesday. Please make up at least one page of detailed notes and type a page of ten questions that cover the theory from 19.1, next write the answers on the back of the page. On p 593 Do #1 to 8. This will be passed in on tuesday for marks.
Chem 111-We will do another quiz on molecular compounds today from the back of your grey sheet. New work: molar mass calculations. I also introduced you to mole day. You will have a quiz that covers molecular, binary molecular, polyatomic molecular, polyatomic ions including ammonium and hydroxide as well as the molecular base ammonia tomorrow.
Chem 112- We are now going to deal with the last family the ionic hydrates. They are ionic but have water molecules attached. Please do #6 and #7 from the green sheet. In psirs you did a practise assignment with reactions.
Sheet 7 and 8 should be completed for monday. You have a test on wednesday. I will do a hwk check on p 273, 279, 281 and the two worksheets. Properties assignment is due on monday.
